James is a manager in our Firm with more than 25 years of accounting and auditing experience dedicated to the service of not-for-profit organizations. 

Like all members of BBD, James is dedicated exclusively to serving the accounting, audit and tax needs of our more than 500 not-for-profit clients.

Prior to joining BBD, James was the sole proprietor of James M. Babic, PC. He specialized in providing audit and information return preparation services to not-for-profit organizations and worked with hundreds of clients.

His not-for-profit audit experience includes engagements performed in accordance with:

• Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
• Government Auditing Standards
• Uniform Guidance guidelines
• U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developments requirements
• GAAS and Employee Retirement Income Security Act
• Program-specific audits for governmental grants and contracts

James also has experience with annual review and compilation engagements, SOC1 type engagements and defined contribution plans in accordance with GAAS and Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 section 103(a)(3)(C) standards.
