Resized for HubSpot 294 x 168 On-DemandOn August 5, 2020, the Securities and Exchange Commission issued a rule proposal to modernize the disclosure framework specific to mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.  This proposed rule intends to streamline shareholder reports to meet the simplified demands of retail investors, while at the same time ensuring that more detailed and audited information remains available to more sophisticated investors.

The SEC’s comment period extends through the beginning of 2021.  While the rule is not yet final, it is certain that significant changes are ahead for shareholder reports.
