Bill is a partner in our firm with more than 20 years of professional experience. He has extensive experience specific to the financial services and investment advisory industry. This includes experience in accounting, audit, tax and regulatory matters for mutual funds, private investment partnerships, hedge funds and investment advisors.
Bill serves as lead audit partner on many of our mutual fund engagements as well as on most of our hedge fund and investment partnership audit engagements. Bill has developed an in-depth knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and its related rules, subchapter M of the Internal Revenue Code and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and often provides research and assistance to our clients. He has significant experience with mutual fund excise tax and dividend calculation matters and has developed programs to assist our staff in computing and coordinating required income tax and excise tax distributions.
With respect to private investment partnerships and hedge funds, Bill has extensive experience with financial reporting, income tax, regulatory, partner level allocation and performance reporting issues facing these investment vehicles. He has developed customized programs for our partnership/fund clients that make and track both economic and tax allocations, compute management and incentive fees, calculate partner-level performance and provide periodic partner reporting. He has experience with GIPS examinations and performance verifications and is knowledgeable regarding the CFA Institute’s GIPS standards for calculating, presenting and reporting investment performance.
Bill is a member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He is involved with planning, developing and implementing our firm’s seminars and workshops. He has presented these programs to both firm personnel and clients.
