Tom is a partner in our firm. He was one of the founders of the firm and served as managing partner from 1997 to 2007. His extensive experience includes more than 30 years providing accounting, auditing, tax, financial planning and business advisory services to public and privately held middle-market commercial businesses and their stockholders.
Tom is the engagement partner for many of our firm’s manufacturing, distribution and business-to-business service clients, including both public and privately held companies. He has a thorough knowledge of accounting, auditing, tax, financial planning and operational matters that are unique to these types of businesses and has extensive, hands-on experience with financial and tax planning for their stockholders. Tom specializes in helping companies develop and implement profit improvement and cost containment strategies. He also assists many of our clients with internal control, accounting and financial reporting issues.
Because Tom is the engagement or review partner for many of our firm’s public company clients, he maintains a thorough understanding of the requirements of the SEC and PCAOB.
Tom has specialized expertise in mergers and acquisitions, business valuations and assisting with obtaining financing for closely held companies in the manufacturing, distribution and business-to-business service industries. He has assisted clients with evaluating, structuring and financing more than 100 mergers, acquisitions, buy-outs and sales. He has valued these types of businesses for purchase, sale, stockholder’s agreements, litigation support, gift tax and estate tax purposes, and he has assisted many of our clients with obtaining cost-effective financing from banks, commercial finance sources, government agencies and other public and private sources. In 2004, Tom earned the Certified in Mergers & Acquisitions (CM&A) designation from the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AMAA).
