No Lazy Days of Summer at BBD: 78% of Firm’s Professional Staff Now a CPA or In Progress Toward Completion of the CPA Exam
BBD, LLP, a Philadelphia-based, PCAOB-registered firm of Certified Public Accountants, today announced that a large percentage of the firm’s professional staff continue to make significant progress toward achieving the CPA designation.
Recognizing the importance and the challenge of passing the CPA Exam, BBD launched the 6-4-2 CPA Exam Bonus Program in 2007. Through the bonus program, the firm awards $6,000 to firm members who pass all four parts of the exam within one year of joining the firm; $4,000 for passing within two years; and $2,000 for passing within three years. The $6,000 bonus for passing the exam within one year of joining the firm is believed to be the largest CPA Exam bonus in the Philadelphia area.
Today, two years after the launch of the bonus program:
- 59% of BBD’s professional staff are licensed CPAs
- 75% of BBD’s Class of 2008 passed the CPA Exam within one year of joining the firm and earned the $6,000 bonus
- 11% of BBD’s professional staff have completed the CPA Exam but have not yet met the experience requirement to earn the CPA designation
- 100% of BBD’s Class of 2009, who completed the firm’s Orientation program on September 10, are registered to begin taking the CPA Exam
“We are thrilled that our professional staff are taking advantage of the 6-4-2 Bonus Program and passing the CPA Exam,” said Mike Boyle, BBD’s managing partner. “Our goal is and always has been that every professional who is eligible to become a CPA earn this critical designation— which is not the goal at every CPA firm. We are getting very close to meeting our goal. Each step or passing makes us a stronger firm and puts us in an even better position to serve the needs of our clients.”
Recent notable individual accomplishments include:
- Christopher Cahill and Cory Stewart, two members of BBD’s Class of 2008 as well as former BBD interns, recently completed all four parts of the CPA Exam and earned a $6,000 bonus. Cahill is a graduate of LaSalle University and Stewart is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University.
