Firm Name Changes To BBD, LLP

Briggs, Bunting & Dougherty, LLP, a Philadelphia-based, PCAOB-registered firm of Certified Public Accountants, announced that the firm has changed its name to BBD, LLP as of January 1, 2010.

The move to a shortened name recognizes the great legacy of the firm’s founders and at the same time acknowledges the firm’s continued growth and progress.

“The name BBD, LLP is the end result of decisions our partners have made for the purposes of honor, consistent branding, and definition for the current times,” said Mike Boyle, managing partner.

A 2006 rebranding effort incorporated “BBD” into the firm’s logo. Since that time, many clients and friends have referred to the firm by its initials. Internally, many firm members and communications also refer to the firm as BBD.

In the interest of consistency and progress, the partners elected to change the official name of the firm.

“While our name has changed,” said Boyle, “the essence of our firm has not changed. We are the same firm with the same ownership. And as BBD, LLP, we will continue to provide the same excellent service that is the hallmark of our firm.”

As part of the current rebranding effort, a modified logo and new Web site also will be introduced in early 2010.
