Professional Development
As a member of the Center For Public Company Audit Firms, our staff members are required to maintain and improve their skills by completing a minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education every year. We take pride in our commitment to enhance the growth potential of our staff.

Applicable state societies require completion of 80 hours of continuing professional education every two years. In addition, Government Auditing Standards require certain professional staff to complete 24 hours of the 80-hour requirement in subjects directly related to the government environment and government auditing. These requirements are generally fulfilled by attending seminars and workshops presented in-house or sponsored by the AICPA, state societies and industry associations. These continuing professional education courses cover a wide variety of subjects. Staff members attend seminars that are relevant to the clients they service in order to further develop expertise in a particular industry.

We also realize that professional development does not end with technical training.  To that end, we have developed a mentorship program at BBD that partners our junior professionals with more seasoned professionals who can offer insight into the industries we serve, our clients, the accounting industry and career progression at BBD.  Everyone gets in on the action in our mentoring program.  Mentors include senior staff members, managers, principals, and even partners!
